Pathways
A therapeutic approach to moving from being stuck to lasting change

Pathways is for adults from all walks of life.
This is a unique group, which aims to help people move past stuck places in life. It features an active component as well as a therapy group, which draws from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as principles from Buddhist Psychology, Mindfulness, and Shinrin-Yoku (Forest Bathing).
Enrolment is limited to a maximum of 8 participants in order to ensure that our group remains intimate and connected.
Where you are stuck will be as unique as you are.
Some participants may be considering leaving a relationship or are grappling
with a new health condition. Others may be ambivalent about retirement, while some
may need to take action toward new health behaviours and can’t quite get to where they know they want to be.
You will not likely have the same stuck point as others in the course. The instructors work from the assumption that regardless of area of stuckness, there are underlying factors that prevent forward motion. These underlying factors will be familiar and relatable to all participants.
The registration fee for this group will be 400 $ for four weekly two hour sessions. If extended health benefits apply, this will be able to be covered under social work/psychotherapy services.
Pathways will be running from 1:30pm-3:30pm on the following dates:
Friday June 6th
Friday June 13th
Friday June 20th
Friday June 27th
Please contact Andrea (lissa@mcmaster.ca) if you think Pathways may be right for you or if you have any questions about the course or registration.

Our hike is a 2.6 km loop to Sassafrass Point. This winds through the woods at Churchill Park before emerging to a scenic viewpoint of Princess Point. It takes approximately 35 minutes to complete this trail and is not intended as a strenuous hike, but instead an intentional engagement with nature.
